How much money have you wasted on acne products that didn’t work?
Yeah, I cringe too when I hear that question. I don’t even want to think about it. But I know how frustrating it is, which is why I reviewed dozens of products to treat body acne, breakouts, and scarring, and have brought you the top three acne products you need. When I review a product, I consider its effectiveness, cost, and accessibility. These are the superstars in every category. Here we go:
Body Acne
If you have body acne, try Differin Body Scrub. I cannot say enough positive things about Differin. Not only are their products effective, they are affordable and accessible over the counter. This scrub contains salicylic acid, which kills bacteria and dead skin cells. It lathers nicely in the shower and a little goes a long way. It is consistently rated 5 stars on Amazon, making it a top performer. Check it out!
Breakouts
Years ago I stumbled across Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion in Ulta and couldn’t resist trying it because it looked so curious. It comes in a small clear glass or plastic bottle that has a pink sediment at the bottom. Insert a Q-tip to the bottom of the bottle and scoop up some of the sediment. Apply it carefully to the individual breakout. Watch out–it stings–but that is just the salicylic acid penetrating deep into the skin to kill bacteria and oil in the pores. Leave it on overnight, and enjoy waking up to a smaller, drier breakout the next morning. You will immediately see why this makes my top 3 list of products. It is simply phenomenal.
Scarring
Eau Thermale Avène Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream starts healing skin before it scars. It contains postbiotics that restore microbiome health and support the skin’s natural defenses. It is easily the best restorative cream I’ve seen. Apply it directly to active acne to help prevent/minimize scarring. What a relief!
